lovely two-bedroom cottage is nestled in the Oceanside village of Cabuya.
Experience
the tranquility of Cabuya, just a short drive to the
excellent tourist destinations of Montezuma, Mal Pais and Santa Theresa.
A
very short walk from the cottage, you will find two small local groceries
featuring household items, groceries and beautiful local fruits and vegetables
at a very reasonable price. Also, within walking distance, are a few locally
owned restaurants that have very good food at very reasonable prices (fish,
seafood, chicken, sushi, bakery items, homemade pizza, etc). There is a local
saloon type bar that sometimes has live music and a sports bar/restaurant with
good food and amazing ocean and island views. There is an internet service and
an internet café with free high speed internet and wi-fi (and great food).
Only
a short distance further, you could stroll to the well-known destination, Cabo Blanco. This large nature preserve is one of the most
beautiful hiking areas you will find. There are lovely sand beaches in this
park as well as an array of colorful bird life, monkeys and more.
A
fifteen-minute walk will bring you to Cabuya Island
(just off shore-you can walk at low tide) that sports some reef life (be sure
to bring your snorkeling gear) and good fishing opportunities.
ATV rentals, ocean kayak rentals and horseback riding are
available right in Cabuya as well. There are
several local fishermen who will take you out for the day to fish with them for
a reasonable price.
A
bus runs approximately every two hours between Cabuya and Montezuma for less than one dollar (US) per passenger. Many wonderful
activities are available in this area of the Nicoya Peninsula such as; surfing,
lovely beaches, Canopy (Zip line) tours, waterfall excursions (on foot or by
horseback), Island snorkeling tours and more!
