                                                            Travel to Mundo Tranquilo Inn in Cabuya, Costa Rica

To get there from San Jose;

- An excellent option is to use the transport package with Montezuma Expeditions. This can be just a transport service, from the airport to the retreat center, or it can include a night at a hotel, five minutes from the airport, breakfast in the morning and transportation early in the morning all of the way to the retreat center. You are picked up by a comfortable, airconditioned van (seats about eleven people) that takes you to the ferry (includes the ferry ticket) . At the other side of the ferry, another identical van will pick you up and drive you right to the door in Cabuya (or to any other location in Cabuya and Montezuma). You can find them online easily at MontezumaExpeditions.com or email them at info@MontezumaExpeditions.com. The transport service is $45/person. If you are including the one night in a hotel with the package, it is $80/person or $65/person if you are sharing a room. It leaves twice daily from the San Jose/Alajuela area, once at 6:30 am and once at 2pm.

Note; In Cabuya, on the main road, as you head towards Cabo Blanco National Park, you will see Super Chicho on your left. Take a right at Super Chicho, follow the drive to the end and you will see a bamboo gate and our sign.

-You can book a mini-flight on Sansa air (small jets) that takes about 25 minutes to land on the Nicoya peninsula. The tickets range from $55 to $100 per person. The terminal is connected to the San Jose airport, so it is easy to walk there when you exit the terminal (or take a 20 second cab ride if you are unsure). The plane lands in Tambor, very close to a rental car place. At that point, you can either cab out to the center (about 25-30 minutes, depending upon the driving speed, the cab is around $45), take a bus (check the local bus schedules online) or rent a car to complete the trip to Cabuya.

-You can take a bus from the Coca Cola station in San Jose (which is a 25-30 minute cab ride from the airport) all of the way to Montezuma (4 miles from Cabuya), then take a cab from Montezuma to Cabuya. You can check those schedules online. The bus ticket is about $10 per person and the bus goes over the ferry. There is a direct bus to Montezuma that leaves at 2:00 in the afternoon daily (as of Nov.2010), but it is always good to check online for any changes.

-You can  rent a car near the San Jose airport and drive to Puntarenas to catch the ferry. The drive is about 1 hour. The Ferry will take you across the peninsula for about $10/per car and $2 per person. The ride is about one hour. The Ferry lets you out at Paquera. The drive from Paquera to the cottage is also about one hour. We really enjoy the drive…to Puntarenas there are beautiful mountain and valley views most of the way, the drive from Paquera to Cabuya is also lovely countryside, hills and jungle flowers. The ferry is comfortable, has indoor air conditioned seating and outdoor seating. There is some food and beverage available on the ferry.
